Kendall ‘9’ wins G-R opener

Kendall opened Genesee Region League baseball competition with an 11-4 victory at Byron-Bergen  this afternoon as Justin Barrett went the distance on the mound scattering seven hits and striking out five.

Richie Swift had three hits, scored four runs and drove in two and Mookie Nauden added two hits to lead the Eagles at the plate.

Leading by a narrow 6-4 margin, Kendall put a lock on the win by scoring two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

A single by Nauden ignited the sixth inning scoring spirt as a single by Swift and an error plated the two runs.

A single by Alex Sutphen then sparked the seventh inning uprising which also included a run producing sacrifice by Nauden and a single by Swift.

In all, Kendall scored in five different innings.
