Kendall cagers down rival Holley

KENDALL – A big first quarter scoring burst sparked Kendall to a 68-43 victory over rival Holley this evening in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game.

Holley jumped out to a quick 8-2 lead at the outset sparked by two baskets by Corey Winter.

However, Kendall answered back with a big 19-4 scoring surge to close the period with a 21-12 lead and the Eagles were never headed.

Mookie Nauden had eight points, including a three and two lay-ups, to lead that Kendall uprising which also included threes by Will Condo and Devin Appleton along with a pair of buckets by Isaiah Brown. Back-to-back threes by Nauden and Condo ignited the uprising.

Keeping the momentum, Kendall extended the advantage to 41-23 at the half and to 59-36 at the three-quarter mark.

Nauden had two threes and Alex Sutphen one in the second quarter as Appleton and Condo both added a pair of buckets. Condo and Brown then both scored three baskets and Garret Love two in the third quarter.

Nauden finished with 16, Condo 15, Love 14, Brown 10 and Appleton 7 for the Eagles.

Josh Porter netted 14, Winter 12, Joe DeFelice 7 and John Bower 5 for the Hawks.

Kendall is now 2-1 in the league and 2-2 overall while Holley is 1-3 and 1-4.

Notre Dame 90, Lyndonville 51
BATAVIA – Leading by a narrow 20-18 margin, Notre Dame closed the second quarter with a huge 27-2 run to key a 90-51 victory over Lyndonville in a G-R contest.

Pat Hinkson scored 15 and Evan Milleville 11 for Lyndonville whose other point getters included Nick Hinkson 8, Ty Hrovat 7, Justin Edwards 6 and AJ Buckland 4.

TONAWANDA – Caitlyn Mason scored 11, Julia Atwater 9 and Olivia Denny 6 for Barker in the 56-36 non league loss to Tonawanda.
