Kendall girls post win over Albion

Building up a 3-0 advantage, Kendall went on to defeat host Albion 4-2 this morning in a non league girls soccer game.

Kendall jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half as Maya Rutland scored at 17:48 and Taylor ReQua at 5:49. Taylor Rutland earned the assist on both tallies.

The Kendall advantage jumped to 3-0 just three minutes into the second half when Maya Rutland scored again, her team leading seventh goal of the season, off an assist from Taylor Rutland.

Albion though came battling back to slice the deficit to just one at 3-2 as Mariah Elsenheimer scored with 28:13 to go and Emily Blanchard tallied at the 15:05 mark. The goals were the ninth of the campaign for Blanchard and the eighth for Elsenheimer.

However, the Purple Eagles could get no closer as Kendall answered right back with ReQua’s fifth goal of the season to regain a 4-2 advantage with just 8:59 remaining.

The victory keeps Kendall unbeaten at 6-0 while Albion slips to 3-4.

Albion next travels to Alexander on Monday for another non league game while Kendall visits Oakfield-Alabama on Tuesday for a Genesee Region League contest.
