With new Coach Barry Webber at the helm, the Lyndonville girls varsity basketball team is prepping for the upcoming Genesee Region League season.

The senior quintet of Morgan Hungerford, Chelsea Poler, Gabby Dusett, Rebekah Hoffee and Leann Balcerzak return to anchor the lineup for Lyndonville which also includes juniors Diana Smith and Jasmine Plummer along with sophomores Aubrey Lewis and Mackenzie Muck. Hungerford scored 125 points and grabbed off 160 rebounds for the Lady Tigers last season.

“They are learning a lot real fast and we looked good in our first scrimmage so I definitely feel we will be able to compete,” said Webber who has coached varsity soccer and JV basketball at Roy-Hart. “It does come down to our post play and the girls we have there (Hungerford and Poler) are solid.”

Interestingly, the Lady Tigers season opener will be a non league contest at Roy-Hart on December 2.

Lyndonville, which went 4-15 last year, will open the G-R season at Elba on December 4.
