Medina U19 wins on last minute goal

Scoring a goal in the final minute, Medina nipped Amherst 3-2 this evening in a Buffalo and Western New York Soccer League boys U19 Division game at Vets Park.

Thomas Goetze scored on a penalty kick with just under a minute to go to provide the margin of victory for Medina which improves to 4-3-2.

Trailing 1-0 at half-time, Medina rallied into a 2-1 advantage on goals by Anthony Pane and Goetze on a penalty shot.

Amherst answered with a penalty kick goal to retie the contest at 2-2 but Goetze’s second successful penalty kick of the evening rallied Medina to the win.

Medina will close out the season at West Seneca next Wednesday.

In another U19 contest Holland defeated visiting Roy-Hart 2-0.

U14

Albion 10, Mt. Morris/Dansville 1

Getting goal production from eight different players, Albion romped to a 10-1 victory over visiting Mt. Morris/Dansville this evening in a Rochester District Soccer League boys U14 Division game.

Noah Goudreau scored three goals for Albion as Jeffrey Sherwood, Daniel Sherwood, Jordan Jacobs, Bradley Sanford, Owen Foos, Kendyll Hadick and Hayden Pecoraro each netted one.

Devin Gaylord earned the win in goal as the quartet of Noah Duvall, Michael Keeler, Carson Trupo and Nate Smith anchored the defense.

Albion improves to 6-2-2.
