Medina golfers post win over Albion

Balanced scoring earned Medina a 224-320 win over Albion this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League golf match at Hickory Ridge.

Ian Wagner took medalist honors for Medina with a 42.

Michael Cardone added a 44 for the Mustangs while Gage Masters, Sam Busch and Melanie Green all carded rounds of 46 and Hunter Sturtevant a 47.

Medina is now 2-0 and Albion 0-2.

In other N-O action, Wilson boosted its record to 2-0 with a 223-256 win over visiting Akron and Barker trimmed Newfane 236-240 to go to 1-0-1. The CSAT at Roy-Hart match was postponed until next Tuesday.

Nate Fox took medalist honors for Wilson with a 41 as Connor Seeley added a 43 and Brandon Seider and Jonah Miller both chipped in with rounds of 45.

Barker’s Brad Wilson and Newfane’s Connor Duncan shared medalist honors with rounds of 43.

The losses drop Akron to 0-1-1 and Newfane to 0-2.

Medina next hosts Wilson next Wednesday in a key early season match at Shelridge while Barker will be at CSAT, Newfane at Albion and Roy-Hart at Akron.
