Purple Eagles win N-O opener

Taking charge early with a five run third inning, Albion went on to open defense of its Niagara-Orleans League title with an 18-1 victory at Wilson this afternoon.

The decisive third inning saw John Warne double in one run and John Krieger, Connor Barleben, Noah Preston and Dominic DiCureia each single in one.

The Purple Eagles later capped off the win by scoring six times in the sixth inning as Barleben had a run producing double and DiCureia an RBI single.

DiCureia finished with a total of three hits and three RBIs, Barleben two hits and two RBIs and Warne two hits.

Austin Loyd picked up the win on the mound for the Purple Eagles scattering three hits and striking out 12.
